Mammoth
An experimental real-time 3D renderer for Windows with an explicit frame boundary, PBR lighting, shadows, and a focused post-processing pipeline.
01 / Overview
Mammoth is a self-contained Windows renderer showcase built to keep graphics work explicit. Application code owns objects and behavior, then submits a compact frame containing geometry, transforms, materials, and lights; the renderer owns the passes that turn that description into the final image.
02 / What it does
- 01
Renders metallic-roughness PBR materials with as many as 16 submitted lights, including shadowed point lights.
- 02
Implements SSAO, depth of field, bloom, tone mapping, color grading, film grain, and FXAA as an explicit frame pipeline.
- 03
Builds its procedural showcase without private model or texture packs so a fresh checkout exercises the complete renderer.
03 / Engineering
The central boundary is Render_Frame. The application produces display data without handing entity ownership, collision, gameplay, or a scene graph to the renderer. Typed texture wrappers distinguish HDR, display, depth, normal, ambient-occlusion, and bloom resources so pass inputs remain visible in the code.
